Grant & scholarship Program

Grant and Scholarship Programs are supported by the fundraising efforts of our club members. 
Our major fundraiser is the annual St. Patrick's Day Dinner Dance.


Grant Program

The GFWC Hollidaysburg Area Women's Club Grant Program is open to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations located in Blair County.  

All Grant Applications received are reviewed by the Club's Finance Committee and voted on by a majority of the Club's Membership.   

The number of Grants distributed varies from year-to-year and is dependent upon the success of the club's fundraisers.  The Grants are distributed in mid-June.

Our clubwomen were very busy during the months of June and July presenting the 2016 grant checks to nonprofit organizations in Hollidaysburg and throughout Blair County.  


Scholarship Program

The GFWC Hollidaysburg Area Women's Club Scholarship Program is open to Hollidaysburg Area High School students and adult women who are residents of Blair County.  

Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis and the program is dependent on the success of the club's fundraising efforts.  The woman's scholarship is awarded in the Fall.  The student scholarships are awarded in the Spring. Applications can be found below on the page, at the Hollidaysburg Library, and Financial aid or Guidance counselor office at each school.

Academic Scholarship Award

  • A Hollidaysburg Area High School Senior  

The Education Community Service Program reviews all applications, conducts interviews of the top candidates, and selects the winner. The winner is announced at the Awards Ceremony at the Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School. 

Arts Scholarship 

  • A Hollidaysburg Area High School Senior pursuing a degree in the arts (not including music or drama).

The Art Community Service Program reviews all applications and portfolios, conducts interviews of the top candidates, and selects the winner.  The winner is announced at the Awards Ceremony at the Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School.

 

Community Service Award

  • A Hollidaysburg Area High School Senior who exemplifies the volunteer spirit in their community.  

The Education Community Service Program reviews all applications, conducts interviews of the top candidates, and selects the winner. The winner is announced at the Awards Ceremony at the Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School.

Adult Woman's Scholarship

  • A woman who resides in Blair County and is furthering her education after a break from her education.  

The Education Community Service Program reviews all applications, conducts interviews of the top candidates, and selects the winner. The winner is invited to attend a Club meeting where the Scholarship is presented to her.
